Story

Laura B interiors 2.jpg

Laura Beirne Interiors design iconic hand-drawn prints to create decorative homeware, traditionally made and printed in the UK using Azo free inks.

Each print is inspired by British heritage to evoke nostalgia and a personal response to the fabric.

Each item is beautifully handcrafted using only the finest materials, going against industrial manufacture and supporting British Craft.

The collection stems from my travels to India where I discovered the symbolic meaning behind fabric. I love how each print tells hidden stories about Indian culture through motifs and decorative patterns. Through this, my designs represent Britain with all its stories to be told, as well as animals and nature.

Both the excitement of colour and fabric embellished with pattern is what fuels my designs. I like to have hidden details in the print that can only be seen if you really look.

The fabrics I use and complementary trimmings are all to create an element of fun to enhance your home, bringing personality and something unique - an artwork to be treasured for years to come.

Where it all began

Laura studied at Brighton University for four years gaining a Master of Design in printed textiles passing with a Distinction. With a broad range of skills ranging from CAD Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, digital printing, illustration, dyeing, and a strong emphasis on hand screen-printing. Added to Laura’s skills she has worked alongside fashion icon Zandra Rhodes screen-printing in her London studio and designing collections.

From here she flew to India, Jaipur and worked alongside traditional master block printers, and was inspired by the beauty of colour, fabric, pattern, and culture.
